The Bielefeld Police Headquarters is the criminal investigation department responsible for certain (serious) crimes and special operations for the entire administrative district of Detmold. Our quality standard is to do everything possible to solve a homicide from the very beginning. For this reason, a homicide squad is also set up in cases of doubt.

In Bielefeld, two murders, including 0 attempts, and eight manslaughter cases, including five attempts, were committed in 2023. Suspects were identified in all cases.

The number of operations by our homicide squad in Ostwestfalen-Lippe remained at a high level. With 50 cases, one more commission was deployed than in 2022.
