I like not only being told about this, but also experiencing it myself where possible. In addition to my previous work as a public prosecutor, I have gained a particularly important facet for people's safety in the police - prevention. The diverse tasks of the police in the field of prevention are largely new to me and I want to get to know them and support my specialists in the best possible way."
Since November 2022, the Bielefeld police puppet theater has been shining in new splendor with a new play, redesigned scenery and the actors construction worker "Heinz", donkey "Käthe", highland cattle "Big Mäc Laut", peacock "Ludwig" and mole "Digger". Children from daycare centers in Bielefeld can experience the new interactive educational puppet show "How to cross the road - BUT SAFELY!". The head of the authority played the secret protagonist "Digger", who has no speaking role but quickly forms a bond with the children due to his cuteness and is very popular with the guests. "Digger" encourages the children in pantomime to be curious and ready to adapt and encourages them to sing along in the musical scenes.
Police Commissioner Dr. Sandra Müller-Steinhauer: "It gives me great pleasure to slip into the role of a cute actor and make a small contribution to sustainable road safety work. The development of road accidents in Bielefeld in 2022 shows just how important it is for us as the police to raise awareness of the dangers of road traffic among our youngest road users at an early age. The number of children involved in accidents rose from 96 to 98. The theme of the current puppet show addresses precisely this issue, especially because most children in Bielefeld were involved in accidents as pedestrians in 2022. The puppet theater is an important component of our traffic accident prevention for the target group of children."
