A 19-year-old from Bielefeld had himself locked in a doctor's surgery on Kesselbrink on Friday, February 18, 2022. He searched the practice for valuables and also used it as a starting point to get to another practice via adjacent balconies.
The burglar forced his way into one of the practice's offices and also searched it for valuables. He tried in vain to get into other rooms, but failed at the office door.
He then climbed back into the first practice, but found that he was also unable to open the entrance and exit door located there.
After trying in vain to force open the practice door, he finally called the emergency services at around 06:20. Without thinking twice, he stated that he had been stuck for hours after a break-in and asked for help to free himself.
According to current findings, he is considered an urgent suspect in eleven other cases.
The man, who is known to the police, was brought before the competent magistrate on Monday, 21.02.2022, who issued a pre-trial detention order.
