On Tuesday, 27.06.2023, control measures were once again carried out at the Tüte as part of the authorities' focus on "Security in Bielefeld city center". The aim was to uncover drug-related crimes and prevent crimes such as violence and property crimes through a joint presence with the City of Bielefeld's public order office.
The checks were also used to investigate offenders, find drugs and shed light on gang structures.
In the course of the measures carried out, the officers checked 45 people and initiated criminal proceedings against a 30-year-old and a 19-year-old for violating the Narcotics Act. The officers arrested a 57-year-old man who was the subject of two arrest warrants - for coercion and violating the Narcotics Act. He was unable to pay the amount of 7,000 euros to be released from custody.
Officers from the police task force and investigators from the criminal investigation departments were involved in the operation. The police worked closely with the public order office of the city of Bielefeld during the checks. The Bielefeld police will continue to carry out regular operations as part of the fight against crime in public spaces. This includes both visible and covert measures.
On Saturday, 24.06.2023, police officers from the task force were able to find various drugs and a high three-digit sum of cash in typical scene denominations on a 24-year-old man during an identity check on the Kesselbrink. A search of his apartment brought further drugs to light. A total of 150 ziplock bags of marijuana, 16 bubbles of cocaine, 49 tablets of ecstasy and several hundred euros were seized. The drugs already packaged for sale still have to be analyzed. The 24-year-old, who is known to the police and was on probation, was brought before the magistrate, who issued a remand warrant.
